TACTICIAN:
René Villefrance, 40

Has sailed Flipper and Laser dinghies since childhood. As an adult, René has been in demand as skipper on larger boats. Now he sails only as a tactician. René is also a regular member of X-Yacht's factory crew.

SPINNAKER TRIMMER:
Flemming Fjord, 49

As a junior he sailed Trapeze dinghies and Yngling keelboats. Later, the Nordic folkboat and H-boat. Bought his first X-99 in 1998.

HELM AND TACTICIAN:
Nicklas Holm, 24

As a junior, Nicklas was a multiple champion in the dinghy class. Later he switched to keelboat racing and has won championships in one-design classes. In 2001 he launched an Olympic campaign in the Star-class and participated in the Athens 2004 Olympics. In 2002 Nicklas was named Sailor of the Year in Denmark.

MAST AND BOW:
Gerrit Bottemöller, 28

 

At the age of 12, Gerrit started sailing and trained in the boat class Flying Dutchman. Later he started sailing big boats. He has won several international race-series (i.e. IMX40 and IMX45) and long distance races (i.e. Baltic 63).

BOW:
Felix Weidling, 27

 

When Felix was 6, he started in the Optimist and later he climbed the latter from dinghies up to the boat class 505. In 1997 he started an IMX38 campaign and won the German IMS ranking. In 2000 he joined a German X-99 boat and he won the X-99 German Championship four times in succession and came in fourth at the X-99 World Championship.

GENOA TAILOR / GUY TRIMMER:
Frank Larsen, 37

 

In his early years Frank sailed dinghy for fun and in 1992 he participated in an intensive sailing course at “Oure International College of Sports”, Denmark, focusing on racing. Subsequently, Frank has instructed in sailing at the College.
Frank has previously sailed with Team VELUX as a regular member and has more than 10 years of experience with the X-99 boat class.

GENOA AND TRIM:
Morten Østergaard, 34

Morten sailed dinghies as a child, including Trapeze, Flipper and 420. Later, he moved on to larger boats, including the X-79 and the X-99, helping to win the Danish Championship in both. Morten also participated in the America Cup project in the 1980s.

GENOA AND TRIM:
Henrik Andersen, 35

After spending a lot of his childhood in an Optimist dinghy, Henrik reached manhood in an X-99. Together with Morten N., Henrik has been a regular member of the crew of a German X-99 that sailed in international races.
