Team VELUX wins the Danish championship for the 4th time

In all, 26 boats competed in this year's Danish Championship, which took place on Funen. Bogense Yacht Club, which was celebrating its 50th anniversary at the same time, was the organiser. There were boats from both Germany and Sweden, whose crews were eager to train against Team VELUX before the battle for the World title.

The races on Saturday were cancelled because of too little wind. That made Sunday's races extra exciting. A light wind is particularly challenging to sail in. Every single movement on the boat can affect one's chance of winning. It is necessary to keep a cool head when sailing on the marginals. And almost the world's best X-99 yachtsmen, Team VELUX, managed to do that. They got a black flag for breaking away and had to go out of one race. Fortunately, however, one can deduct the bad race from one's total point score, and Team VELUX managed to win all the other races.

Team VELUX is competing in the World Championship on Lake Constance in July of this year, so the challenges will be completely different from those faced in sea racing.
