| World class is something you've got to really want to be |
 |
Team VELUX is ready to sail to victory in the World Championship, which is being held on Lake Constance in Switzerland this year. The team's expectations are sky-high, but it is going to be a tough battle. World class is not something you simply are, but something you really want to be. And it takes a lot of hard work.

Flemming Fjord, Team VELUX, says, "The crew have been together for many years. We have renewed ourselves together even though we're longer in the tooth now. Our cooperation on the boat reflects our confidence that we have the best man in each place and the fact that we respect each other's special expertise. There's no self-opinionated skipper on this boat! We are a team of experts."
In preparation for the World Championship, Team VELUX is working hard to get ready for the different conditions.
"We are most used to sea racing," says Flemming. "Sailing on a lake is new to us - particularly a lake that is surrounded by mountains. It will be very different reading the wind when it is affected by the mountains around the lake. We are looking forward to the race - and to meeting some very good opponents. We shall be racing against some seasoned x-99 teams that are accustomed to the conditions."
