| We are relying on Wednesday! |
 |
After seven hours with grey weather and rain but no wind, the judge gave up. Not a single race could be completed on the second day of the World Championship either. The judge did not even try to start the races.

"We are relying on tomorrow (Wednesday)," says Flemming Fjord, who, according to himself, is bursting with energy and dying to get going. "We have noticed that there is a little wind in the mornings, so we have now persuaded the judge to start the first race at 7 am. We have never been so rested during a World Championship. We are keeping our spirits up, but my goodness, are we looking forward to getting out and racing!"
For Team VELUX the weather conditions are very unusual, whereas the locals take them as they come - for them, the conditions are completely normal.
Bregenz is situated in the westernmost corner of Austria, and the lake on which the World Championship is taking place is bordered by three countries; Germany, Schwitzerland and Austria.
Lake Constance is 550 km around its perimeter and up to 350 metres deep. There are about 50,000 boats on the lake, from dinghies to large yachts. For those that ski, the town of Bregenz is only about one hour's drive from the well-known skiing centre St. Anton am Arlberg.
